Accra- Wednesday, May 16, 2022: The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has been honoured with the 2022 Excellence in Local Government Service Delivery and the Africa Top 50 Public Sector Leader Award at the 3rd Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA) held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel – Accra.
The ceremony which was under the theme, “Repositioning Africa’s Public Sector for Sustainable Development” discussed with leaders of Sub-Saharan Public and Private Sectors, key issues of public interest that can contribute to building a robust economy.
The awards conferred on Dr. Arthur were the result of his contribution to the promotion of effective local governance systems through innovation with sustainable initiatives.
In conferring the awards, the organisers remarked that the LGS has experienced great innovation, dynamism, diligence, and all-around progress under Dr. Arthur’s leadership.
Some eminent personalities also honoured for their initiatives in the strategic transformation of the Public Sector included the Vice President of Ghana, His Excellency Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; the President of Kenya, His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, and a host of other public sector players.
