The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council on 19th January,2021, held a staff durbar during which 4 retired staff were honored for their services to the Regional Coordinating Council.
The event, which happened to be the first of its kind in the recent history of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council witnessed the Ashanti Regional minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah presenting a 43 inches Television, Kente and an amount of money to each retiree.
Presenting the items, the Ashanti Regional Minister, expressed the hope that such staff durbars would be institutionalized and be held twice a year. Thanking all the staff for their hard work over the years, he indicated that he as a Regional Minister has had to take certain tough decisions in order to turn the fortunes of the council to make it financially independent and expressed the hope that the council would proceed on that tangent.
Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Mr. Augustine Danso (retired procurement assistant) expressed their profound gratitude to the Regional Minister and the Coordinating Council for the novelty and requested that subsequent retirees would also be done such honor.
The three other retirees were, Mr. Emmanuel Addai (Principal Records Supervisor), Mr. Benjamin Ampofo (Transport Officer) and Mr. Awuni Tongo (Headman watchman).
