Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly observes 67th Independence Day

Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) in collaboration with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), on Wednesday, 6th March 2024 marked the 67th independence anniversary with a parade of Security Services and School Children.

The event which was under the theme “Our Democracy, Our Pride” saw the presence of the Bantama hene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, as the chairman.

In his speech, the Hon Simon Osei-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister noted that the relative peace and stability of the country, coupled with the time/tested democratic credentials, has made this country a beacon of hope on the international stage. “Our constant peaceful elections always deepen our rich democratic culture and portray to the world that Ghana is truly a united democratic country”.

 

The Regional Minister explained that Ghana has since independence, made significant strides in the establishment and consolidation of democracy. “We have embraced the principles of democratic governance, enshrining the rights and freedoms of all citizens in our constitution”, he added.

 

At the end of the match pass a number of schools from various levels were awarded.
