The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah has expressed his expectation that conservatively, the Kumawu government hospital project should be completed by September 2023. He made this known when he paid a working visit to Sekyere Kumawu on 15 March, 2023.
According to the Minister, though the contractors have given the indication that the project would be done by April ending, he would rather project September timeline since that would be more feasible.
The Kumawu hospital project stalled due to financial challenges, however, the government resolved the challenges and the contractors, NMS Infrastructure Limited moved back on site last year. Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah noted that work has progressed immensely since last year with civil works almost complete. He added that most of the equipments are already in the country as such installation work is expected to be done smoothly. He indicated his satisfaction at the work done and expressed the hope that by September, ‘people would no longer be referring to Kumawu hospital project but rather, Kumawu hospital’.
Mr. David Moore, the Senior Site Manager of NMS Infrastructure Limited explained that though civil works as well as drainage works are still ongoing, he believes that with team work timelines can be met.
Other activities undertaken by the Ashanti Regional Minister during his working visit are inspection of the Bodomase police station project, inspection of the District Health Insurance Office, the District Assembly Administration block complex as well as cut the sod for a Green Ghana project.
The Regional Minister also called on Nananom at Pepease.
