Accra: Friday September 9, 2022: The Head of the Local Government Service, Ing Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has met with Regional Coordinating Directors (RCDs) to discuss the initiative to introduce a health insurance scheme for staff of the Local Government Service (LGS).

The initiative is part of efforts by the Service to ensure staff can access a certain minimum level of healthcare services to guarantee their well-being for productivity. The HoS noted that the policy is intended to relieve staff of the high cost of medical services.

The leader of the service provider team informed that they are a market leader in the healthcare insurance industry with approximately sixty thousand (60,000) subscribers, over six hundred (600) partner hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, diagnostic, dental, and optical centers across the country, and assured that beneficiaries will receive the best healthcare possible.

Meanwhile, the HoS assured the RCDs that a communique’ would be issued to all MMDAs provided management approves the full implementation of the health insurance policy.
