H.E. Mrs Simone Giger, Swiss Ambassador to Ghana called on Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei-Mensah on 21 November 2022.
Among issues discussed were the numerous economic opportunities that exist in the Region, especially in agricultural, tourism and industry. Also, issue of sanitation whether discussed.
The Minister indicated that though the completion of the phase II of the Kejetia market will bring some relief since it will decongest the Central Business District, further investment will be needed in putting up multi storey lorry parks.
The Regional Minister further discussed the menace of illegal mining and a strategic approached being adopted by REGSEC to fight it.
Mr. Simon Osei-Mensah took the opportunity to explain to the Swiss ambassador the rational in the various policies of the government and how it interconnects with each other.
